Lakshadweep, gifted with the coral islands provides beautiful and enchanting lagoon with crystal clear water and abundant sea life. The islands are the largest coral reef islands in the country. These islands are believed to have been formed as the result of coral activity and these corals thrive only in clear water of temperature 23 to 33o C. Densely covered with coconut palms, each island floats serenely in sea whose waters range from turquoise to saphire blue.
The corals and enveloping lagoons are the mainstay of tourism attractions in the islands. Since the land based tourism development is extremely limited, the future tourism promotion in the islands needs to be positioned based on a careful planning of the sea and the water resources. ‘Back to nature’ concept is being promoted in some of the uninhabited islands, which are now open to foreign cruiseliners. Agatti Island, Lakshadweep, India
Agatti is called the gateway of Lakshadweep. Agatti island is located on the eastern side of a hemispherical-shaped reef formation that lies 8 km southwest from Bangaram. Probably the Agatti has many striking features among Lakshadweep island group. The Agatti reef was relatively less affected by the bleaching event. The perimeter reef encloses a shallow lagoon of around 17 km² in area.
Scuba diving, snorkelling near the coral reef, glass bottom boats in the lagoon, speed boating, deep sea fishing, lagoon fishing, journey to nearby islands (Thinnakkara, Parli and Bangaram), water skiing, kayaking are some of the major attractions here. Read more: Lakshadweep Islands

Bangaram presents a breathtaking spectacle of sparkling coral reefs, turquoise blue lagoons, silvery beaches and lush green coconut palms. All preserved in the state little different from the days of Charam Perumal's reign.

Bangaram is an atoll situated at 10o56' north latitude and 72o17' east longitude. There are four small islands on the reef — the two largest (Bangaram and Thinnakara) lie on the western edge of the lagoon basin, and the smaller two (Parali-1 and Parali-ll) are located on the northeast reef perimeter.
A wonderful underwater world waits to be explored. The lagoon surrounding the resort offers a great opportunity to explore and indulge. Beautiful creations like Parrot, Porcupine and Puffer fishes swimming gracefully with Moray eels and other colourful creatures present a breathtaking underwater scenario.
